Doctors successfully administered the product to Lewis Goodfellow, a baby weighing 780 grams was born at 24 weeks gestation and was not enough oxygen. The viagra opened its blood vessels.

London – Doctors at a hospital in the northeast of England had to resort to Viagra to save premature babies from certain death, indicated on Friday the British media.

The specialists successfully administered the product to Lewis Goodfellow, a baby born at 24 weeks’ gestation was not enough oxygen to be able to breathe because one of his lungs had stopped working.

The drug, for men suffering from erection problems, allowed to open blood vessels of their lungs very thin, so that the body could oxygen normally.

“Sildenafil (viagra molecule) opens blood vessels to enable them to capture and transport oxygen to the body,” explained to the BBC Alan Fenton, neonatal consultant at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne, where was carried out the operation.

The baby, who weighed only 780 grams at birth last August, is now well and was allowed to return home last week.
