The third main chakra center of our body is the Solar Plexus Chakra and resonates to the color YELLOW.  This powerful energy center is located (as you may have guessed!) in the upper abdominal region above the navel and under the rib cage.  It is the center of your mental vitality, clarity, wisdom, knowledge and ego.

Physically YELLOW gives energy to our digestive system, and liver.  Mentally yellow energy gives clarity of thought, the ability to focus and to eventually quite the mind with practice and meditation.  The color yellow is cheerful, vibrant and a wonderful mental stimulant.  Any time you need to increase your mental capabilities or focus, YELLOW energy is an excellent choice. Yellow also connects us to our ego.  Helping us to define who we are.  Keeping a positive mental attitude is one of the main characteristics of a happy solar plexus chakra.  Sharing knowledge and learning as we go, it is also very important to listen to our inner voice and to allow expression of feelings.  Logic is wonderful but emotions are too.  These are some of the lessons of this energy center.

Examples of YELLOW energy are, Lemon, Basil, Grapefruit, Birch, Cedarwood, Rosemary, Fennel, and Ginger essential oils(just to name a few).  All YELLOW foods such as lemons (of course!), pineapple, yellow peppers, bananas etc…  You get the idea!  So the next time you or your child needs a boost to alertness or has something important to study,  try a bit of  yellow sunshine in the form of color therapy.  Hey! maybe a pair of those cool color therapy glasses.  Now there’s a thought!
