St. Patrick’s Day Green and Your Heart Chakra
Submitted by Penelope Marshall (view website)Yesterday our friends at Google had an interesting design for their home page. It showed ivy coming from the roots of the Earth and sprouting into little green shamrocks to celebrate St. Patrick’s day. The great thing about the design from a color therapy point of view is how that symbol is so close to how our chakra centers actually work. Our Green Heart chakra is located in the center of our chest near our heart and lungs. It separates the lower chakras which are responsible for our root attachments to the higher chakras that take us to the spiritual side of ourselves.
Just as the plants sprouting from the Earth reach for the sky, we as humans mirror that process within our bodies. Our Root chakra is at the base which can correspond to roots of a plant. We then move into our sacral or sexual chakra that can metaphorically mirror germination. This leads to will, purpose and ego which is how we present ourselves to the world in our solar plexus. It is in the Green Heart chakra that we show the world our true colors allowing us to further express ourselves verbally in the Blue Throat chakra and ultimately taking us to spirit.
