The tomato pill
Submitted by AlicinhaThe “tomato pill” contains lycopene which is one of the main ingredients of the Mediterranean diet, which is a well know diet proven to prevent heart disease. Lycopene is an antioxidant found in tomato skin, but in its natural form it is poorly absorbed.
During a study, the scientists mixed lycopene with milk and soya bean proteins to solve the riddle of how to create a concentrated form.
The resulting pill, Ateronon, was found to reduce the level of harmful fats in the blood.
Preliminary results (only 150 cases studied) suggest that ateronon may help reduce harmful fats in the blood and prevent the build-up of plaque in the blood vessels.
The new tomato pill will not only save the lifes of people but it is also expected to cure other health problems relating to arterial damage.
