Attaining Medical Self Sufficiency
Submitted by Adam Curren (view website)Hospitals are Really Great!
Hospitals are great, don’t get me wrong, I mean if you’ve ever had an extended stay, you know what I’m talking about. Not long ago, I had the pleasure of a 4 day all inclusive stay at my local hospital, and after jabbing me 3 times in each arm they finally got an IV started. I was on my way to 4 days of pure Antibiotics and Saline, there wasn’t a vitamin or mineral in site! A few months later, I discovered a chemical called Phthalates which are used to make IV bags and tubes and have been shown to negatively impact the reproductive system. It was this experience that initiated my vow to do everything in my power to stay far away from any place that had the words Hospital on their shingle. In this article we’ll focus specifically on taking the first few steps towards becoming medically self sufficient with the objective of helping to remove your dependence upon a medical system that kills more than 225,000 annually (according to The Journal of the American Medical Association).
The Greatest Health Care System in the World?
The western diet is full of toxic chemicals that have been clearly shown to wreak absolute havoc on the human body, yet most in conventional medicine remain bewildered as to the reasons for the staggering chronic illness rates in America. It just so happens that chronic illness just surpassed infectious disease as the #1 cause of death in the world, and it’s estimated that over 90 million Americans currently suffer with some form of chronic disease. When we do become ill, we’re funneled into a system that doesn’t address the core issue of the problem, but is all too quick to prescribe more toxic chemicals. This may certainly provide a degree of temporary relief, but has proven only to exacerbate existing conditions and further poison the body over time. Complications from prescription drugs (not including errors) cut short the lives of more than 106,000 individuals in the U.S. every year.
What we now have, is a system where the integrity of objective medical reasoning has been replaced by the convenience of writing a prescription, creating a rotating door right back into the doctor’s office. The very sad reality is that the medical system that we all thought was there to preserve our health is actually an integral part of its demise. The purpose of a Health Care System is to care for your health, ensure it, and keep you out of the hospitals; yet as a nation, we have the third sickest population falling only behind China and India. In spite of this, we’re still told and in fact believe that we have the best healthcare system in the world. If by best, you happen to be referring to having the greatest technological capability, then sure we’re one of the best, but if you define best as actually preventing and curing illness and disease, then the reality of the situation is that our system is down at the bottom with the worst of them.
Preventative Living
“If you wish to be healthy, there are certain things you can do that reliably and consistently produce a healthy outcome. And if you wish to be diseased, there are other things you can do to reliably and consistently produce disease. Those disease-promoting things, by the way, are followed by most people today, which explains why disease rates are so high in industrialized nations.” Mike Adams_Editor_NaturalNews.com
Conventional medicine has you to believe that developing a disease is a matter of chance, but the reality is that you have almost complete control of the matter. One of the most challenging obstacles in this process is switching your mindset from following what everyone else seems to be doing, to empowering yourself to become more self reliant. Truly ensuring your health will consist of minor lifestyle adjustments in the areas of diet, environment, exercise and sleep, but will ultimately prove as one of the greatest investments you can make in the preservation of your health.
Collectively we’re a nation that has no concept of the term preventative; it might as well be Yiddish. Yet, prevention is the key to conquering chronic illness and should be your first line of defense from staying out of a hospital bed (as comfy as they are). Proper nutrition is the foundation for disease prevention and can help by preventing loss of muscle strength, bone mass, as well as vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Preventative living doesn’t have to be time consuming either, you can effectively preserve your health by adopting a few healthy habits each day, while being consistent, and avoiding the things you know will be compromise your health.
A Few Natural Remedies and Tips
The National Toxicology Program lists 246 agents in our environment which are known to cause cancer, and it’s because of this fun fact that make it almost impossible to completely avoid all toxins. However, there are specific measures you can take to reduce your exposure. Switch your home cleaning products to all natural solutions including: vinegar, lemon juice and baking soda; I’ve personally found them to work better. Aspartame, Fluoride, MSG and Sodium Benzoate; over 14,000 chemicals are used in our food supply with an average of another 1,000 being added each year; so make the jump immediately to organic/all natural foods.
It’s now necessary to supplement your diet with a Quality vitamin and mineral supplement due to our genetically manipulated and nutrient deficient food supply. Do understand though, that not all vitamin and mineral supplements are made equal; some are quality, while others are not, so do your research and make a good choice. The Health Science Institute reports that the average glass of water contains 2,000 carcinogens, so I’d recommend purchasing either a Distillation or Reverse Osmosis water filtration system to make sure your drinking optimal amounts of pure water everyday.
A Few Other Key Natural Solutions
- Avoid Microwaves: their emissions are shown to cause chemical alterations within food substances, and are extremely toxic once ingested. Instead, cook your food at low temperatures by boiling, baking, or steaming; ultimately this will retain more nutrients.
- Consume the Proper Amount of Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s) which help transfer oxygen at the cellular level, which studies show is paramount in avoiding cancer.
- Sunshine: we’ve all been told for years that the sun is dangerous and will kill you. The truth is that moderate, but consistent sun exposure allows your body to produce the proper levels of Vitamin D which studies show help to avoid certain cancers, osteoporosis and diabetes.
Natural remedies have proven to be some of the most effective and powerful medicines known to man and also happen to be some of the highest grade and affordable Health insurance you can buy. The good news is that most people can still reverse years of damage to their body by simply making adjustments to their diet and lifestyle. Thousands of very powerful and effective natural remedies exist for any ailment under the sun, so the next time your nose begins to run, don’t run to the local doc. for a prescription, but remember all of the wonderful and much safer natural alternatives and give them a try first!
