Premature hair graying
Submitted by AlicinhaWhen we talk about premature graying, we mean that more than half of your hair is white before turning 40, or at least have an important strand of hair in which gray predominate.
In most cases the white hair you owe to your family. If several of your relatives are gray, consider it part of your family heritage. The hair grays when the body fails to produce a pigment called melanin, that gives color to it. The lack of this pigment makes hair grow “colorless”, white in other words. When combined with dark hair, your hair look graying. As I mentioned before, in most cases this is true for genetic reasons. So there is no reason to worry because it does not mean you’re getting old before time.
In some cases, premature graying has been associated with a disease called vitiligo, in which the melanocytes in your skin (those responsible for producing melanin) die.
Other conditions that can cause premature graying are thyroid problems, anemia and vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is found in eggs, meat and dairy products. But this rarely happens.
What can you do?
Not much you can do to prevent premature growth of gray hair, especially when due to family inheritance. Some people choose to restart, but when there are too many, it becomes impossible and stressful.
However, there are still two options. The first is to dye your hair to hide them, as do so many women. Yes, women! Although we are not aware, many women have premature graying. Only they can not be seen publicly and dyeing has become your best ally. Choose a dark color to work on your hair white.
The second option is, of course, accept them and give them personality. As have so many famous men who have chosen to wear his white hair and have become one of the attractions.
