Littlesun is a design by Olafur Eliasson and Frederik Ottesen and it is a lamp that is powered by solar energy and is made by a solar panel that can be charged during the day and has 105 LEDs.

According to the designers with 4 hours of charging in direct sunlight can provide five hours of LED lighting. The device is small and lightweight, making it easy to carry anywhere and place it where necessary.

The initiative claims to be more economical and longer life than kerosene lamps and can last from 3 to 6 months. Device makers hope to have the first lamps and the summer of this year and are intended for release in Asia, Africa and South America, places where light exclusion leaves thousands of families.
