Pumpkin soups, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin puree – all these are absolutely amazing and delicious. But did you know that pumpkin is considered as extremely beneficial for our health? That is correct! It is not only tasty, but it has an infinite number of health benefits, which automatically make it one of the best ‘superfoods‘ in your fridge. The soft part of the pumpkin contains many important micronutrients – potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, as well as vitamin B. Also pumpkin is extremely rich in provitamin A – beta-carotene. This compound works as a natural shield for the body and protects it from the harmful environment effects.


We will start with pumpkin seeds. What is the thing that makes them more special than the other types of nuts? Here’s the thing – pumpkin seeds are extremely rich in plant-based chemicals, which protect your heart from different cardiovascular diseases. Another very interesting fact about pumpkins is that according to a resent research, made by the National Cancer Institute, they can reduce the risk of developing cancer. Also, they are a fantastic way to get yourself rid of a number of skin problems, such as wrinkles and acne. They can strengthen your immune system and boost your mood after a long and exhausting day at work.

Why are we telling you all this? In this article we have decided to provide for you three amazing pumpkin recipes. They are all very delicious and can become a great part of your daily nutrition. Here are our suggestions:


Pumpkin Soup!


What do you need?


1 butternut pumpkin,   peeled and cubed;

               2 tablespoons olive oil;

1-2 carrots, peeled and roughly chopped;

1 onion, diced;

1-2 potatoes, peeled and cubed;

        Salt and pepper;

        Stock powder.


How to prepare it?

Take the vegetables and fry them until golden. When they are ready, add 2 litres of boiling water and the stock powder. Then bring back to boil for another half an hour. When the vegetables are soft, liquefy the soup and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.



No-bake cheesecake with pumpkin


What do you need?

200-250 grams  cream cheese;

        1 cup canned pumpkin;

        1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice ;

        1.5 cup sugar;

        200-25- grams whipped topping;

        Graham cracker crust.


How to prepare it?

Use a mixer to beat cheese, sugar, canned pumpkin and pie spice. Then carefully stir in whipped topping and add crust. Leave it for one night before consuming. It’s simple, easy and absolutely terrific!


Pumpkin Pie


What do you need?

2 cups pumpkin, peeled and grated;

        1 cup sugar;

        1/2 cup oil or butter;

        2 cups flour;

        1 coffee spoon of baking soda;

        1 baking powder;

        cinnamon – 1-2 teaspoons;

        1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional).


 How to prepare it?

In the same order, mix all the ingredients with a spoon, then take some small baking pan, apply some oil and bake until golden-brown. When the pie is ready, sprinkle with some castor sugar. It is a wonderful addition to your afternoon cup of dark coffee. Also, you can be sure your kids will love it.
